Disable/postpone agent upgrade?

I'm looking at drafting a rollback policy for the event that a desktop central server version upgrade goes wrong (this has never happened, but I like to be paranoid)

A potential problem is that as soon as the server is upgraded, it will automatically start upgrading agent versions (I have had a problem in the past where there was a bug in the agent upgrade process - support gave me a fix right away so it wasn't a big deal, but I did need to deploy it via other means) and I am concerned that if I had to do a rollback of the DC server, it may get confused if there are agents with a higher build number than it.

Is it possible to delay or postpone the automatic upgrade of agents following a server upgrade?
