Did You Know – Advanced Policy Configuration Part IV

This week let me take you th rough the settings in Notification tab.

Notification tab - Notify users about their self-service actions

ADSelfService Plu s  lets you notify users about their reset password, unlock account and change password actions. For example, if a user has reset his password using ADSelfService Plus, this setting, when enabled, will automatically trigger an email notification that informs the user about his action.

Under this tab, y ou can choose to notify users via email or SMS or both.  You can also customize the email message and SMS to suit your requirements.

Once configured, end users will receive notifications whenever they reset or change their passwords and unlock their accounts using ADSelfService Plus. The notification will trigger for automated password resets and account unlocks too.

To ensure security, you can insert the new password in the notification message using the %password% macro instead of plainly inserting the password.

You can also choose to notify the admin about the self-service actions. The notification message will contain who performed what action and when.
