Device not responding

I monitor numerous remote routers across the entire spectrum on bandwidths. All of my routers which are connected via a 56k or 64k connection are reporting "DOWN" or "NOT RESPONDING" many times a day. However, they are not actually down, I believe OPManager just thinks they are because they take too long to respond. Is OpManager just doing a PING? If so, can I somehow increase the response time allowed?
