I can't seem to find this in the manual, nor in the forums here.. so I'll just ask..

Suppose I have 20 servers all attached to a switch which is itself attached to a router; and that switch goes down. Providing that the switch is "pingable", how can I tell OpManager that those 20 servers are behind/dependent on the switch and NOT give me 21 alerts (20 servers + 1 switch), but only the ONE alert that counts (the router being down).

Same goes for the switch being dependent on the router. If the router goes down, the dependency should take into account that even though the servers are dependent on the switch, they are indirectly dependent on the router as well. If the router goes down, I only want to receive the one alert of the router; not the 20 for the servers, 1 for the switch and 1 for the router.

What am I missing? We are running build 8021.
