Is there a way to detect duplicate Exchange Proxy addresses before creating a new mailbox?  I already have duplicate checking in place for AD and Azure, but we allow users to keep old email address in case of marriage and name change and unfortunately, we sometimes end up with duplicate email addresses so Exchange adds numbers to the email address.

I would appreciate any suggestions.
