Desktop Central Agent Hangs during patch process.

I have noticed that on several occasions, and on different machines, the agent notification hangs during patch upload. It will sometimes get one or two patches installed and then just sit there until the system is rebooted. It doesn't give the user any further information, only that the patch update is underway and to wait. Waiting is of no use as It never finishes and closes the window on it's own. Once the system has been restarted all is well.
 
It doesn't seem to cause any other problems other than my phone ringing with the user on the other end telling me that it has done it again....
 
Any suggestions?
