Deprecation of basic authentication in Microsoft Exchange Online

Dear users,

As you maybe aware, Microsoft has announced that it will start disabling basic authentication for Outlook, EWS, POP, IMAP, EAS, and RPS protocols in its Exchange Online effective October 1, 2022.

The alternative, Modern authentication (OAuth 2.0 token-based authorization) has numerous benefits including security and improvements that help mitigate the issues in basic authentication.

We strongly recommend our customers to switch to modern authentication at the earliest to avoid any disruption with mail processing in ServiceDesk Plus. Refer to the following article to configure OAuth in ServiceDesk Plus.

P.S: In case, you are using basic authentication and facing mail fetching issues, we request you to switch OAuth and check if that resolves the issues.

Should you have any questions, write an email to support@servicedeskplus.com.
