Deprecation of Azure AD PowerShell and MSOnline PowerShell modules: No Impact on M365 Manager Plus users

Deprecation of Azure AD PowerShell and MSOnline PowerShell modules: No Impact on M365 Manager Plus users

[Update - 30 April 2025] M365 Manager Plus now operates without AzureAD PowerShell and MSOnline PowerShell modules.

M365 Manager Plus has removed its dependency on the Azure AD PowerShell and MSOnline PowerShell modules successfully. The product will no longer require a Microsoft 365 service account or the mentioned PowerShell modules to function, starting from build 4700

From March 31, 2025, Microsoft will deprecate the Azure AD PowerShell and MSOnline PowerShell modules. The modules will no longer receive updates or support from Microsoft. Administrators who rely on these modules for executing tasks and automation are encouraged to adopt Microsoft Graph PowerShell SDK and Microsoft GraphAPI.

Impact on M365 Manager Plus

M365 Manager Plus will not be affected by this deprecation as most of the operations that were using the mentioned modules have been migrated to Microsoft Graph API after Microsoft's initial announcement on April 01, 2024.

As of March 25, 2025, M365 Manager Plus uses MSOnline PowerShell cmdlets to execute the MFA Settings management task. This will also be migrated to Microsoft GraphAPI in an upcoming release. We recommend keeping your M365 Manager Plus instance updated for a seamless and secure Microsoft 365 administration experience. Beyond that, no additional steps are necessary for you to continue enjoying the benefits of M365 Manager Plus.
