How do you deal with PCs being renamed? I give the PCs a descriptive hostname when I image them. For example, if it is going in cube 243 in the Accounting department, I might name it ACC243 so I can physically locate it it. If I end up reimaging and re-purposing it to cube 122 in HR, I might name it HR122. However Desktop Central will now contain two entries for the same physical box: ACC243 and HR122. ACC243 will show offline forever (or at least until I put a different PC in cube 243) and seems to count against my number of licensed endpoints. How should I be dealing with instances where I or one of my technicians reimages and renames a PC? Does Desktop Central do any self cleaning to prune machines, or is there a method for removing stale computers like you can in AD ( dsquery computer -inactive 7 | dsrm -noprompt)?
