Deactivate Inventory scanner and delete agent log files (and some other questions)
Hello,
sorry bad english.
We have some problems with our new Desktop Central 7 system.
At some servers the agent and the services need many memory. Up to 1 GB RAM for the inventory scanner.
The inventory logs in the log folders are more then 100-200 MB big.
Can I deactivate the inventory scanner? Or can I define areas on the local computer that the scanner don't scan?
The system recieve many datas from other locations, transfer the data into a new format and send it to other system. All this transfers are logging from the agent as a software change.
Can I set a max. size for all log files? At some servers the Manage Engine log folder is 200-500 MB.
Can I delete the log files in the log files folder?
Next questions:
Can the Desktop Central agent start a automatic security scan after a reboot?
After the installing from some security updates over the Manage Engine server and the restart of the client the system (Desktop Central Server) don't see the new updates. Only after a new security scan the patche are visible as installed.
Last question:
Any change to see a new "Schedule Patch Task" like "Automatically Download and Deploy the Approved Missing Patches" without a security scan?
We use for our patch management two task:
First a " Scan the Systems and Download the Approved Missing Patches" to find the missing patches on all servers.
and second a "Automatically Download and Deploy the Approved Missing Patches". But at this time we don't need another security scan, the first one find all missing patches and download it to the Desktop Central server.
Thanks for your help.
I hope you understand my text.
Andreas
