Dcom

I have been testing Service Desk for the past few days but I still get the Dcom error, I enabled the D com and I added ports 7, 135,445,1085. The thing is that I test it in VMWARE and I am able to ping the machine I am testing and I can VNC but I can not scan it. Here is the other catch the machine is not on a domain but when I select the network option or domain work group I still get the access denied error or DCOM. I do not think it is the DCOM the question is do I need to be a domain admin and do both machines need to be on the domain. I am using VMWARE as a local administrator the same for the test machine?.

I can not seem to scan my linux machines also they report either an RPC or DCOM error how do I solve these problems in LINUX.

Any tips any ideas I have exhausted the fixes I have seen here I edited the group option and the dcom and I have to get this bad boy running soon. Appreciate the help.
