db instances, and tomcat application health idicators

While testing both the mssql-db and tomcat 5 monitors - I've noticed that the detail indicators don't seem to be registering.
e.g., MSSQL - db instances doesn't show anything for tx volume, and Tomcat doesn't show anything for specific apps.
Is there anything specific I need to do in order to start capturing that level of detail, or is it something that is coming in the GA release?
