Custom Script monitors in OpManager - Some examples, documentation needed

Hi all.
I've been playing around with trying to port some Perl, bash scripts etc. from an old Nagios instance (Which by the way, seems to support custom scripting a heck of a lot better than OpManager from what I can see!) with the intention of decommissioning nagios eventually.
So far however, I haven't gotten very far at all, as each time I try a custom script (Perl, PowerShell etc.) I seem to always get some obscure error of one kind or the other.

Can you please provide some actual working examples of Perl scripts which have been tried and tested from a Windows server running OpManager 9 (For instance, perhaps a simple Perl script which connects to a database and retrieves a value, which can then be used to generate an alarm if greater or less than a particular value. Or say a script which pulls down a website via wget, curl etc. parses it out and looks for a particular value. If it finds this, then it generates an alert. Or indeed any useful similar scripts) so that people like myself don't have to start from scratch here. Also, some proper documentation on the custom scripting options would be greatly appreciated, as what I've seen so far is pretty poor really.

OpManager is a great product and if it's worked on more can be an excellent product. To achieve this though, I really think you guys need to encourage a user community more and post the solutions you're created for given customers online, rather than simply offering to fix via a Webex sessions each time. By posting solutions online, it's going to encourage people to check forums more and start helping each other. Much like people currently do with Nagios, Cacti, cricket etc. etc.

The ability to add custom scripts in OpManager is definitely a step in the right direction and should be developed a lot more if you ask me. It's one of the main reasons I was holding out for OpManager 9, rather than jumping ship to a different competitor. Having said that however, I was expecting a lot more documentation, working examples of custom scripts than what's currently available.

Please help,
 Michael.
