Custom Fields pulled from SNMP query & Warranty information

Its possible to create custom fields to assign to devices. It would be nice to have not only the option to make these standard text entry boxes (as they are now) but perhaps also link these to templates so that they could pull custom static SNMP information.

As an example, with a HP Proliant server, the HP/Compaq mib, provides a location to query the serial number, product ID etc of the unit. It would be good to be able to add this information automatically, which I assume would be best performed by a custom SNMP query, so it would be nice to be able to generate these in the custom fields section.

It may also be nice to link this information to a Warranty Expiry field for a device, so that when you are within X days/weeks of your warranty expiring, opmanager can send you a mail telling you the device name, serial number, product id (or other relevant info) telling you to re-new your warranty.

Further to this, if an alert comes through stating a hardware failure, this information could also be provided by opmanager, making it easier to track down the details you need to report a fault back to the manufacturer.
