Create Device Templates based on non OID data
Currently a device template can only be created by using an SNMP OID. While that makes sense and makes scanning more intelligent it does limit the usefulness of the Quick Configuration Wizard.
Example:
I have 20 servers in my PeopleSoft App Server pool. I need to monitor the integration broker message queue on these boxes and only alert the PSFT team if they are too large. The OID of these systems is going to be of a normal windows server so I couldn't just apply it to my peoplesoft servers, I'd have to manually configure each one.
The two options I see are to be able to assign an OID to a device template but also be allowed to arbitrarily add to a template
Or allow the use of business rules as building blocks in the Quick Config Wizard
