Create Active Directory reports based on custom attributes

Let us see how to create Active Directory reports based on the custom attributes in your environment.

Imagine you have a custom attribute in your AD environment, say technicalteamAttribute. This attribute stores information about a user account's specific team such as 'Networking team', 'Server team', etc. You want to create a report that provides details such as last logon time, days since last logon, and account status for the members in each of the teams.

Steps to create your custom attribute based report:

1) First add the custom attribute to ADManager Plus.
2) Go to Custom Reports in the left navigation pane under ADReports tab. Click New custom report.
3) Enter a  name and description for your report. Add the report to a suitable category. Select the domain for which the report is to be generated in the Select Domains section.

4) Set the condition for fetching data for the report in the Filters section. As shown in Figure 2, select the configured custom attribute from the 'Select an Option' drop down and set as technicalteamAttribute Here for the Networking team logon details report, set technicalteamAttribute as Networking.

5) Select the attributes that you want to display in the report such as last logon time, days since last logon, and account status using Select the attributes that you wish to view in the result option.

6) Optionally, you can save this report and reuse it whenever you need.
