Connection loss causes device to be "unmanaged" status.

I have an issue where when a device loses connection, it goes into "unmanaged" state. But when connection is restored, I have to manually go to the devices's page and select "Manage" again. Well this is kind of a headache when monitoring devices spread out across the country over some very unreliable connections ranging from DSL to satellite. We expect these devices to have some connectivity downtime, so monitoring the amount of time is what is more critical.

While the above problem is a pain, the subsequent issue is more serious for us. We have a VMWare ESX server monitored at a remote office over VPN. Whenever there has been any loss of connection, the ESX monitored goes into the "unmanaged" state, and thus provides no reporting data. However, unlike most other devices monitored, I can NOT go manually select "Manage" again because the menu option is not there. In past I had to remove the server and re-add it. Hoping this time we can find a solution to this problem
