Computer Names ( Scanning )

Hi SDP Team,

Wonder if you could help advise us please. We are a large school, with lots of IT Equipment..... lets say for example:

750 x Tablet PC's
180 x Student Laptops
150 x Staff Laptops
600 x Desktop PC's

And to add to this, we have just re-located buildings too... and so all the room names/numbers have changed too...

Old Art PC Name

R65-01

New Art PC Name

B1F166-01

We havent finished renaming all the PCs to have the correct name yet. But was wondering what is the best step to do to make sure our Inventory of PC's on the network is the most correct and acurate...??

If a PC had one name, and then gets renamed later..? Does SDP rename it in the database..? Does it delete in the database if it cant find it...? Or does it create two copies of it in the database...? Old name and new name together...??

Would it be best that once we have renamed all the rooms, that we somehow flush out / Remove all the PC's it has scanned and let it find them again...?

I think that is it for now, but as this is a big project / move there maybe more questions on a similar topic to come....

Also, any idea's when SDP 7 Upgrade Pack is coming out yet...??
