We use Desktop Central and ServiceDesk Plus, and we're working on importing all our assets from DC to SDP to populate our CMDB. When we deploy a new VM, we also add a brief description to the AD Description field, In DC, Description and AD Description is two separate fields, but when the assets are imported into ServiceDesk, only Description is available. Is there a way to either copy the AD Description to Description, (or use a script?)
2nd, How does everyone associate an Asset to a Request that is leading to a Change? We're trying to figure out the best process for this. For Example we create a request to assign to a team to work on building two new servers to decommission legacy servers/applications. How do we associate the asset to the request, so when we convert this to a change, the assets are associated with it, and then when the assets go through the change we can mark the legacy servers as Disposed.
