Cisco ports not showing up

I am using 7.0 GA version and on one of my cisco 6509's, a group of ports on a couple different modules are not showing up when I view the interfaces. I can rediscover and they will show up, but if I try to add them, it won't. On another 6509 and 4948, ports didn't show up when I added the device, but I was able to rediscover and add the ports afterwards just fine. I have deleted the device then readded it, tried adding one port at a time, stopped the service and restarted, but nothing has worked. I am getting error messages for one of the ports that doesn't show up so it appears to know about it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
