Cisco ASA 8.4(5) NSEL(NetFlow Secure Event Logging) reporting issue

Hi Folks,

Cisco has released its new IOS 8.4(5) For Cisco ASA. Upgrading to this IOS will cause NetFlow traffic reporting breakage in ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer. The reason for the breakage is new fields for traffic monitoring are included in the NetFlow Export(NSEL).

To fix the reporting issue in ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer, we have to apply a patch on the NetFlow Analyzer 9.7 Build 9700. Here are the steps to download and apply the patch:

1. Stop the NetFlow Analyzer service.

2. Download 'NetFlowCollector.jar' from the link below:

3. Navigate to <NetFlow_Home>/lib directory and replace the NetFlowCollector.jar

Note :- Do not rename old NetFlowCollector.jar, just replace the downloaded file.

5. Start the NetFlow Analyzer service.

Note:-

This patch can be applied only on top of NetFlow Analyzer 9.7 Build 9700. Customers using older versions need to upgrade their version to 9.7 Build 9700.
