Choose Day when creating business rule

I have come across a problem with jobs being created on weekends when nobody is the office to monitor them, they need to be dealt with by our on call person who is to be notified by email.
On a saturday or sunday the jobs will come in and sit unassigned until someone physically puts them in a group. I need to be able to create a rule that looks for the day so it can assign them to a group that will contain the person on call.
