Changes in US Daylight saving time - Impacts and Workarounds
Hello,
Daylight Savings Time changes in 2007 will affect Java applications in the Americas/South America. This leads to improper reporting of applications, which handles time related data. Updated Java Runtime Environments contain updated rules to report appropriate time with respect to the time zone.
Existing US customers who are running build number 5504 or lesser and customers who followed a upgrade path to version 5505 using the latest service pack are requested to patch the JRE. Please follow the instructions below to patch the JRE.
1. We assume your OS is already patched for this problem. If not kindly perform that before going to the next step.
2. Stop NetFlow Analyzer service in your environment.
3. Download Timezone updater Jar from
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp#timezone and extract the zip in your machine.
This needs a simple registration.
4. Extract the zip file and copy tzupdater.jar (a file that exists in the downloaded zip) to <NetFlow_Home>/lib directory. (Ex : C:\AdventNet\ME\NetFlow\lib or /home/usr/Adventnet/ME/NetFlow/lib)
5. Save attached script.zip file in your <NetFlow_Home>/bin directory. (Ex: C:\AdventNet\ME\NetFlow\bin or /home/usr/Adventnet/ME/NetFlow/bin) and extract the contents in the same directory.
6. Open a command prompt and go to <NetFlow_Home>/bin directory and execute dstupdater.sh(Linux)/dstupdater.bat(Windows) and look for its output.
7. Start NetFlow Analyzer service.
Please get back to us if you need help while doing this.
Thanks
Raj
