change management and editing the form data
My client is working with change management. We've added a custom field "Session ID" to the template for the change. Their business process is that the Session ID field isn't filled out until the change is nearly completed. The problem is that even though their technician who is the Change Owner and has all the boxes checked for permissions in their role they can't edit the change to fill out the Session ID. SDP throws a message and says to assign yourself the Change Manager role.
So what we're doing is a workaround of juggling roles between people in order to fill out the Session ID custom field. The requirement is because they want to run reports against changes and get the Session ID returned.
Is there a better way to do this?
