Change IP address of a device
Hi,
I have in our Op Manager devices added using IP address (switches, routers, UPS, access points, routers, etc.). Some of these have no DNS record.
I have changed the IP address of a switch. I have replicated the change in Op Manager and now i get the "Unable to fetch managed object details for the object: new IP address".
How can i manage this change in Op Manager?
I have seen that in version 6 the recomendation was to delete the device and added it back. This means losing all customization: i was managing only infrastructure ports (Gbics, stack ports, ports to routers) and not also the user's ports. The device is also part of some business groups, using specific notification monitor. Some of customization i cannot remember and cannot access it to get them. I am now using version 8720. Is there any change in this version or 8721 that can address? Is there a way to change back to old IP, so i can get the information back and then if there is no other solution delete and re-add the device?
