Change Control Meetings

Change Control Meetings

Hi All,

I'm trying to use SDP to process change controls and as a tool for change control meetings. Currently based on what we do, there are too many stages\roles. Is there a way to skip stages\roles completely? really what we need are Planning, Approval, Implement and Close.

We are a smaller organization so what i envision is this:

Change Requester, Implementer, or mostly going to be the same person. That person will put in whatever changes they are making this week in the planning stage to include, what they are doing, when they are doing it, what testing was done and their rollback plan. They then submit the request to their manager.

The requester\implementer manager reviews the change, if they approve of the change they submit it for the change approval board. Our change approval board consists of anyone that comes to our change approval meetings so really for use the CAB just needs to be our change control leader since he'll pull them up i the change control meeting. If everyone at the CAB meeting approves of the changes its approved and moves to implementation.

Implementation is just for the requester\implementer to keep notes of anything that happened. For instance our network admin will log his console output and attach to the change. When he or she is done, they close the request as either, completed, failed or canceled.

from what I've been playing with it seems really hard to customize it this way. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
