Hi everyone,
I would like to monitor an HP5900AF Switch, especially getting informed when any interface is up or down. The SNMP traffic from OpManager to the device works well, but the other direction I do not receive any traps from the switch.
As written in the manual of HP (H3C) the specified MIB is the IF-MIB with the OID .1.3.6.1.3.1.1.5.3 for LinkDown and .1.3.6.1.3.1.1.5.4 for LinkUp, so not vendor specific. That should be the right one, but I still get nothing in the alert tab for the interface. I tried this with a simulation as I connected via SSH and performed a shutdown / undo shutdown command for the specified interface to make a change. With Wireshark I see, that the SNMP Packets are received by the Operating System (W2008R2), firewall Port 162 is also open.
Is there anything special in the configuration? We use SNMP V3, configured all together with a consultant from HP, but it does not work. I've got no idea.
Thank you for your answers.
Best Regards,
Erik
