I'm preparing a new 2008R2 server for my opmanager installation, and decided to trial Application Manager plugin as well.

 

This installation uses a MSSQL backend, on a MSSQL 2012 database.  I've just installed the plug-in and

 

1.  I do not see Application manager installed as a service, which is preferred

 

2. I'm getting the pop-up error: "SQL Exception while getting database connection.  Error Message: Cannot open database "AMDB" requested by the login.  The login failed.

 

3.  I installed the latest APM, which was labeled as 64-bit.  I noticed the default download trial version does not specify 64bit on the name, are both 64-bit capable?

 

I've restarted opmanager without any error, so I am guessing Application Manager is using the same login as opmanager, which has SA permissions on SQL. 

 

Suggestions?  I have diminishing interest in trialing something that is starting out, with problems.
