Cannot get WMI monitoring to work

We have installed OpManager and are able to monitor all of our servers and devices with SNMP fine. However, when trying to add any WMI monitors, such as exchange, OpManager reports the service is down and an authentication failure alert is generated for that server.
Now the 'windows' credential is being used and the domain admin account is put there. On the server in question, in the WMI control properties have the security set so the domain admin account has full rights to everything.
But when re-adding the server or WMI services, they don't appear.
I have never used monitoring software with WMI before and wondering if i am doing something wrong (obviously). Could someone shed some light on the matter, or point me in the right direction on how to configure WMI so it can be monitored with OpManager?
