Cannot connect via Desktop sharing

when i click on a computer with an installed agent, i used to get the computer's IP address in the "Connect with IP" text box and then be able to connect with the remote desktop. I can no longer retrieve the remote IP address, nor can I connect remotely.

The remote computers are listed in DNS with forward/reverse lookups. Nothing has changed since the initial install, when I was first able to successfully connect.

The remote computers also have the Windows firewall turned off. I've also enabled the Remote Administration Exception in Services.msc, and have followed the instructions in the troubleshooting memo.
