Hi Arun and team,
I have a few questions about the contacts and importer that I'm hoping you can answer.
To give you some background, we are looking to use SCP for an internal employee helpdesk tool. I realise SDP is more internally focussed, but our work units are customer service based - not IT based, and independence of the business unit features work fantastically for us.
I am however trying to better understand the 'Contacts' module.
We would like to import our employee's into this module and keep it updated with our current employee listing, in addition to any external contacts that may contact (primarily email) us.
- Can I schedule our employee listing/database to import into SCP on a regular basis so it updates automatically?
- Or, is it possible to have SCP read directly from our employee listing database/CSV file?
- Separate to the items above - If I import a contact list via csv, and then 2 weeks later import an updated contact list because we have new employees, does the new import
- overwrite the current list?
- If the employees are missing from the new csv file (as they're no longer employees), does it delete or archive the contacts from SCP?
- How do contacts get 'archived' if they're no longer employees/contacts?
- Can the contacts be imported / managed at a global level rather than for each business unit?
- If I have two contacts with the same name, but different 'employee ids' can these be imported as different contacts?
Sorry about all of the questions, just trying to see how this be managed for up to 20,000 employees as automated as possible
Happy to discuss further via email if suits.
