Bug: Can only search on UserID if email is defined

Bug: Can only search on UserID if email is defined

I've got several test users setup, names like " john doe", " bob nobody, " frank jones", etc. For each of them, I have the following defined for them (going to use john doe as example)

---------
Employee ID : jdoe (built-in field)

Additional Requester Details
UserID: jdoe

Login name: jdoe
---------

With these three fields populated with "jdoe", when I attempt to search REQUESTS for Keyword, "jdoe", I get no returns. It isn't until I define an email for this Requester of "jdoe@aol.com", can I actually search on "jdoe". What I am attempting to do is provide an easy interface for our Helpdesk to quickly search for "All requests for John Doe". Unless the username is defined the same as the email alias, I cannot search on that value. If the REQUESTS search is going to check the EmailID of the Requester, I'd like to have it also search Employee ID, Login Name, and ANY Additional Requester Fields added.

There seems no way for a Technician to easily search for all requests for a user, unless they fine ONE specific request, actually view it's details, then selection ACTIONS and "View Requests by Requester". Being able to search from the left pane is very important to finding information quickly.
