Beta Migration Pack
Here comes an update to the Migration Pack from Version 6 to Version 7.
With the expected results, comments and suggestions from Customers, who helped us with the Closed beta ( a million thanks to them who helped in this process ), here comes out the beta for others to work on it in their test bed ( and not in the production setup )
Here goes the instructions for the same :
Ensure that all the above hotfixes and migration pack is applied only to your test bed and not to the production server. This is to avoid any data loss in production server, which will be hard to recover.
Please refer practises to be noted in setting up test environment here.
If you face any problems with the upgrade through the beta migration pack, report your issues to 'support @ servicedeskplus.com' with the following information :
Limitations for this upgrade pack :
1. You have to apply the 7009 Service Pack immediately after the 6.x to 7.0 migration pack is applied.
2. As there are more data model changes, Custom generated reports will be deleted and you need to create them again. We apologize for these limitations

1. You can apply the beta migration pack only after to migrate to Version 6014.
To download the hotfix for Version 6014, refer http://www.servicedeskplus.com/service-packs.html
2. Apply the beta migration pack now. Download the beta migration pack from http://bonitas.adventnet.com/servicedesk/27Dec2007/AdventNet_ManageEngine_ServiceDesk_Plus_7_0_0_SP-7000_01_0.ppm
Open a command prompt and ensure that the Height of the Screen Buffer size is changed to 9999 ( See the screenshot in this link to get this done )
Type these in the command prompt
cmd> cd [ServiceDesk-Home]\bin
cmd> UpdateManager.bat 2>7000.txt
Follow the onscreen instructions to apply the beta migration pack.
3. Once you have applied the beta migration pack, apply the 7009 hotfix to migrate to the latest version. Download the hotfix to 7009 from http://archives.adventnet.com/service-desk/sdp_7009/AdventNet_ManageEngine_ServiceDesk_Plus_7_0_0_SP-0_9_0.ppm
Type these in the command prompt
cmd> cd [ServiceDesk-Home]\bin
cmd> UpdateManager.bat 2>7009.txt
