Hello people.
I've been trying to understand why the Bandwith reports have a really big difference with same report in other Monitoring Tools.
My work right now, as we are setting up new services (internet services), is to monitor the Bandwith all day every day so we get to know how much traffic these services use.
We have a Cisco ASA 5510 with many virtual interfaces (for each client). I have the OP dashboard with the real-time Bandwith utilization Widget.
As I'm always taking a look into these, I see the real traffic utilization during my 8-9 working hours and I began to realize that the reports like "today bandwith utilization" or "weekly" or "30 days" have a really big difference with what I see.
For example: we are always running tests through clients interfaces, and sometimes for hours. I've seen the real-time traffic of an interface stuck in 8Mb for six or seven hours but when I generate the daily bandwith utilization report of the interface it doesn't even show those hours of 8Mb utilization or show some peak somewhere.
How is this possible? Those reports need to be attached to the clients' bill every month. They really have a big difference (against us) in the bandwith consumption with the real-time traffic.
We have Whatsup Gold running as well and the reports do show a more simillar utilization.
