Backup Cisco ASA over VPN Tunnel

Backup Cisco ASA over VPN Tunnel

 Greetings,

I have several Cisco ASA devices that I would like to backup using SSH and Device Expert.

Whilst Device Expert backs up the local ones perfectly (though it does not appear to recognise changes with Change Detection?) it does not work with the remote ASA's over IPSec VPN tunnels.

As of the latest version of Cisco ASA (8.2(1)) there is an option to specify if you wish to send the command over the VPN tunnel.

The command DeviceExpert sends does not have this ability at the moment.

The command DeviceExpert sends is: -

copy /noconfirm startup-config tftp://<DeviceExpert Host>/323_ConfigFile.txt

whereas to send the config over the VPN tunnel it needs to be: -

copy /noconfirm startup-config tftp://<DeviceExpert Host>/323_ConfigFile.txt;int=inside

Is this planned in the roadmap for DeviceExpert and if so how long before it becomes available?

In the meantime how do I backup my remote ASA devices?

Regards,

Glenn Crawford.
