AVC monitoring - Available in NetFlow Analyzer(GA)

AVC monitoring - Available in NetFlow Analyzer(GA)

We are extremely glad to announce that the Cisco AVC reporting feature, which was available in the beta version earlier, is now available generally in version 9.9 of NetFlow Analyzer(build 9900)

With this report, you can monitor ASR 1k and ISR G2 routers(that support AVC monitoring) and get valuable insight into the application traffic in your network.

The different reports that are available in this module are:

  1. NBAR2 application monitoring
  2. http host monitoring(URL hit count)
  3. QoS class hierarchy reports
  4. Application response time monitoring

In the case of NBAR 2 reports, you can classify over a 1000 applications de-facto, that are listed in the NBAR 2 protocol pack. As and when subsequent protocol packs are updated, you will be able to classify more types of applications & get the visibility that you need.

You can also further drill down into each application and view the conversations associated with it based on source IP and destination IP.

http host reports show the number of new connections associated with a particular URL.

QoS class hierarchy lists the QoS policies that you have configured in your network and drilling down each policy enlists the applications that have been affected by that particular policy. Based on that, you can decide if you need to make changes to your configured policies on the router.

Application Response time reports help you identify the most and the least latent applications on the network based on their respective response times.

You can download build 9900 of NetFlow Analyzer here. Please do tell us how these reports were helpful to you.
