Authentication Failure Trap

Authentication Failure Trap

Please be so kind to help us.

We already discover all the equipments of the network that we need to monitor. But just the availability monitor it’s working.

We already perform all of the following actions:

1.       1. Checked the SNMP community string in the devices. And is given correctly to the OpManager.

2.       2. There is no firewalls between the server and any of the devices (even Windows firewall is shutdown)

3.       3. Already add monitors (CPU Utilization, CPU Usage, Memory Utilization..)

4.       4. Load MIBs of the Cisco equipment that we need to monitor.

We configure SNMPv2.

 We receive the following message:

Authentication Failure

Description: An authentication failure trap signifies that the sending protocol entity is the addresses of a protocol message that is not properly authenticated. While implementations of the SNMP must be capable of generating this trap, they must be also capable of suppressing the emission of such traps via an implementation-specific mechanism.
