Assistance Required with Executing Custom Function in Business Rules

Hello Community,

I'm currently working on integrating a custom function within the business rules of ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus, and I've encountered a bit of a roadblock. I've successfully created a custom function intended to make an API call, which I've been trying to execute in a specific context of a business rule that triggers upon certain conditions.

I’ve provided the details below:

  • Function Context: The custom function is meant to be executed as part of a business rule action when certain conditions of a service request are met.
  • Goal: To invoke this custom function within the script editor of a business rule that is set to execute on form submission.

Despite following the documentation and ensuring the custom function is correctly set up, I'm unclear on how to call this function in the given context of the business rule.

Has anyone here successfully implemented a similar setup or could guide me through the process? Specifically, I'm looking to understand where within the business rule configuration I can call the custom function, and what the correct syntax would be to ensure it executes as intended.

I'm using ServiceDesk Plus version [insert your version here], and any step-by-step guidance or references to the appropriate documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your time and help

P.S.: This is my custom function:
