Assigned Technician Not Getting Closure Alert....

We have alerts configured to go to all technicians when a request is closed.

But, the assigned technician (the one doing the closing) is not getting alerts. 

Is this expected behavior?  I don't see a place to change this, but it's kind of a weird presumption on the systems part to assume the technician doesn't want to see his own closure alert.
