Assets usability additions/changes

Hi there,

I'm working quite intensive with the Assets and the Purchasing module. There are however some cavaets that make this not always as easy as it could be:

  1. Bulk changing fields of IT-assets/Non-IT assets/Asset Components

    - We cannot bulk change a lot of fields: Site, Purchase (acquisition) Date, Expiry date, warranty expiry date, Location, Product, Asset is currently in..., Vendor Name, etc...

    Most of the time a lot of fields get automatically filled in through the purchasing module, but every now and then, i need to change things here and there. What makes this hard, is that some setting cannot be bulk edited... recently i had to edit 200(!) projectors to add in the location. I had 16 locations in total... if bulk editing was available for the field Location, then i only had to bulk-edit 16 times for each location. 

    I also had to bulk change the acquisition date because mistakes were made in the purchasing module.


  2. There are discrepancies between changing possible the fields that currently are bulk editable between IT-assets, non-it assets and Asset Components:

    - For example, in IT Assets and Non-IT Assets you can "Assign to site", "Modify State", "Modify Type", etc... some of these should absolutely be added to Asset Components.

    For Asset Components the Actions menu currently only contains "Add to Group" and "Configure deprecation"

I have a good sense of where this is heading: to an Feature-ID and that this "will be forwarded to the development team"...
