Asset Scanning By Agent Mode

Good Morning !!!
To scan assets we are using Agent based method.
When we upgrade Service Desk Plus its necessary to upgrade the Agent every time to scan the workstation.
We know there is script to update the agent settings but it's very difficult to run the script in every workstation which are in workgroup.
If we have not upgraded the agent then what will happen.
