Asset scan status: failed

We been having this issue for a while now mostly on laptops, it always failed when trying to scan from helpdesk manually, however, I did install the agent on a laptop and it was able to scan it, but after restart the scan failed again. Our laptops are connected sometimes to our wireless on a different sub-net, but when they are in the main network they still failed to give status.
Please help.
