'State changed from In Store to Disposed' by the System.

Does anyone knows how to reverse this? When I try to move the individual items back to In Store or In Use, the system moves it right back to the Disposed state over and over and over again. I have no idea how this happened, how to fix it nor what to do moving forward to prevent this from happening again.
