Asset and Component Interaction
Feel a bit dense even asking this, but here goes anyway.
What is the intended relationship between Assets and Components?
Sort of assume that in a typical environment that a PC base station would be an asset, and by example the peripheral items such as keyboard and mouse would be components.
I'm not so worried about low cost items like mice, but am about TFT screens, so would that be expected to be an Asset, it has a significant value, or a component?
Then you have things like Broadband Routers, which are usually assigned to a user along with a desktop or laptop, but could be assigned without them I guess.
Does each Asset take a node licence and then you can have as many components linked to an Asset?
Trying to work out what considered best practice is so I don't go down the route of using the application is a way it wasn't intended and tying myself in knots with issues later, but equally want to control licence costs as now nodes count!
Thanks in advance for opinions, views, manual pages etc.
Kind Regards,
Andy
