Approval process

Approval process

Our new auditors are now laying down some stricter rules in regards to approving user access to various software and systems. So, we are starting to use the "Submit for Approval" action for this. However, we really need the following enhancements to be added:

[list=1:47c983a943] *  Only the person who the approval request was sent to should be able to approve a request, or at most, an administrator-level technician. Non-admin technicians should not be able to approve a request, as this defeats the whole purpose of an approval system.
*  Along with #1, there's no indication as to who approved a request, whether it's a technician or the approver. If technicians are going to be allowed to approve requests, there needs to be a record of who was the one who actually approved it, so we know who to blame later.
*  Currently, the only notification templates available are for sending an approval request, and for a "receipt" of the approval, both of which get sent to the approver. There is no notification to technicians when a request gets approved. This is a big hindrance, because we will have to periodically check requests ourselves to see if approval has been granted. There needs to be technician notifications for request approval or rejection so that we can respond in a timely manner. A column on the request list that shows approval status would be nice as well, but notifications are easier to work with.
*  This last one isn't critical, but rather more of a convenience thing. It would be nice to be able to submit an approval request to more than one person at once. For example, if a supervisor requested access to 5 different systems for a new user, we could simply send a single approval notice to the 5 different people who need to grant approval for access to those systems, but they would still show up under the Approvals tab as 5 separate approval.

I doubt that you can get these features into 7.0, but please consider them for the next big release. We will definitely need them soon, and I'm sure many other SD+ customers could use them too.
