Applications Manager Version 11.3 released : includes enhanced VM-to-storage array mapping.

Applications Manager Version 11.3 is out now and, with it, we have tried to give our users visibility into the relationships between VMs and storage arrays.  Also available now is our enhanced event log monitoring feature. Here is a quick glance of all the features that we’ve rolled out:

VM-to-storage maps

Traditional monitoring solutions focus on virtualization at the application level or the storage level, but not both. The VM-to-physical storage mapping feature gives users improved insight into VMware vSphere® servers and their virtual machines (VMs) to the underlying physical storage arrays

The new mapping feature in Applications Manager is enabled by enhanced integration with OpStor, the storage monitoring software from ManageEngine. Read more.

Monitor VMware Resource Pool Utilization

Beyond the new mapping capability, Applications Manager now monitors new key performance indicators (KPIs) of VMware vSphere servers and their VMs. Plan capacity, make educated decisions on resource allocation and bring VM sprawl under control, by monitoring resource pools and cluster performance details. Improved event log monitoring

We have enhanced our event log monitoring capability to help you set log rules for specific monitor types. Configure new log rules to either all monitors, specific monitor types or selected monitors.

And more…

  • Support for $RCAMSG_PLAINTEXT replaceable tags for Execute Program Action.
  • Support for directory monitor with replaceable tag $YYYY$MM$DD.
  • Enhanced URL Sequence Monitoring for URLs with dynamic parameters like Session Ids.

To try out all our neat new features, download version 11.3 of Applications Manager.  If you are using a previous version of Applications Manager, you can upgrade to the latest version by applying the relevant service pack.
