We are delighted to announce the integration of Real user monitoring (RUM) with application performance monitoring(APM Insight) in Applications Manager. This new enhancement streamlines user experience monitoring by merging APM insight and RUM metrics into a convenient dashboard that enables organizations to gain a holistic understanding of application performance, from backend interactions to real user interactions.
The new RUM Analytics tab offers a consolidated view of key RUM metrics within the same console as the APM Insight monitor. Users can now analyze the KPIs of the RUM monitor alongside those of APM Insight. This integration provides a comprehensive view of application performance, including tracking server-side and user-side metrics on a single pane of glass..
While APM Insight provides invaluable insights into application health, integrating Real User Monitoring (RUM) unlocks a deeper understanding of user experience. RUM sheds light on a myriad of performance indicators directly impacting how users interact with your application.
On the Applications Manager’s dashboard, go to “APM->’ Your application’-> RUM Analytics” tab.
If you have already associated a RUM monitor with your application, you can view the integrated dashboard.
If not, select the required RUM Monitor from the dropdown( as shown in the image) and click Associate.
With this, data collected from the selected RUM Monitor is merged and consolidated into the integrated APM Insight dashboard.
In case you want a detailed view of the RUM metrics, click on the popup button present next to the associated monitor’s name to navigate to the RUM Dashboard.
For more information regarding the setting up of the integrated monitor, refer to this document.
