APC UPS and SNMP
Okay, I am utterly confused after having looked for solutions to this for the past 2 hours.
I am trying to monitor our Symmettra 40k APC UPS. SNMP is enabled, but it won't autodiscover. I have added the APC UPS .mib's to the MIB folder, but I'm not sure what this does, or how it works.
Long story short, I don't know what I'm missing. In the Symmettra event log I see the OpManager coming up as a "unauthorized user trying to access snmp information" I have a "snmp" trap sent to that entire subnet that the OpManager computer sits on. Is there a username and password I need to add? How do I go about getting my Symmettra UPS, and Opmanager, who really want to talk to each other, to just do it already?
Do I need to define a community name? Where would I do that? Please help, hopelessly confused.
