Apache Servers show response times 4500

Apache Servers show response times 4500

I"m getting a strange result. The apache servers are showing response times of 4500 ms when in fact i know they're responding a lot more quickly at least to direct requests such as http://ApacheServerHost:ApacheServerPort/server-status?auto requests.

any ideas? (it's flat lined at 4500 as well)
