Does anyone know if its possible to get the open tickets for a given asset through API?

i'm wanting to create a little dashboard for my team that shows up when tickets are open for some assets. Currently we have to browse to assets, find the asset, then view requests to see them.

I'm hoping to just pull back how many open tickets there are for a given asset as shown in pic below.
